Superstar in Therapy is an OFFIE-nominated dark comedy, written and performed by Rania Kurdi as a one-woman show. Speaking to the universal female experience while offering a deeply personal perspective shaped by navigating two cultures, the piece explores the tension between public persona and private truth — particularly for a woman in the spotlight in the Arab world, following Rania’s career as the former co-host of Arab Pop Idol and an artist who topped the Arab pop charts.
With sharp humour and raw vulnerability, Superstar in Therapy unpacks identity, cultural expectations, and the pressure to perform versions of ourselves in order to be accepted.
Rania will perform the piece for an invited audience at the Freud Museum for one night only, hosted by the Foundation for Art and Psychoanalysis (FAP), on September 23.
