Victoria Blunt shines as Benvolio in Romeo & Juliet

New signing Victoria Blunt is impressing at The Watermill this season in their exciting new adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic, Romeo & Juliet directed by Paul Hart:

“For my first production here, I wanted to take a new approach to Shakespeare and in true Watermill spirit; make something that feels truly original – unlike anything you might see in any other theatre.”

In a break from tradition Hart took a gender-neutral stance on casting leading to Victoria being cast as Benvolio – which is going down very well with audiences and critics alike:

“Victoria Blunt shows enormous promise for the future…” What’sOnStage

“Benvolio (Victoria Blunt) and Mercutio (Peter Mooney) were fantastic – getting the light and shade in their parts just right and they sparked off each other brilliantly.” Muddy Stilettos
