Joyce Greenaway is one of the selected writers to be taking part in writing programmes at both the Royal Court and Arcola theatres
The Miniaturists at The Arcola is the regular curated writer-led event dedicated to bringing you short, exhilarating, perfectly formed plays. Each show is packed with work from an exciting array of new and established playwrights all of whom see the short play as a form in itself rather than a means to an end.
Meanwhile, The Studio session at The Royal Court Theatre aims to seek out, nurture and support emerging playwrights, enabling them to develop innovative, original and exciting new plays. It runs a number of playwriting groups, a biennial Young Writers Festival and Rough Cuts. Joyce is part of the Spring 2014 Writers Group, tutored by Leo Butler and facilitated by Rob Hayes, and at the end of the 12 weeks, she will have completed the first draft of her new play. The writers groups, Festivals and Rough Cuts seasons have helped launch the careers of some of today’s most influential young playwrights, including Mike Bartlett, Polly Stenham, Lucy Prebble, Laura Wade and Bola Agbaje.
Joyce Greenaway has been developing her writing talent alongside her recent acting work and is excited about the opportunity both of these programmes will bring her. The Miniaturists 46 will also feature Actorum actress Rosie Abraham.
